Bethany Bowman elevated to Director of Operations for Sports in Kansas
Sports in Kansas CEO/Founder Chet Kuplen is pleased to announce Bethany Bowman as the new Director of Operations for Sports in Kansas. Bowman, who has been with Sports in Kansas as a reporter since June of 2018, will begin new duties on August 1st, 2021.
Bowman, a native of Emporia, Kansas, is a graduate of Barton County Community College and Emporia State University. She is a former All-American high jumper in junior college, where she also played basketball, she then went on to compete in track and field at Emporia State. Bowman also worked in athletic media relations for ESU under Don Weast and the Hornet football program under Garin Higgins. Bowman also served as a reporter for the MIAA. Bowman is also the host of Sports in Kansas All-Access, a show featuring Kansas athletes/coaches/businesses with millions of views across all of the SIK platforms over the last year.
“As we continue to expand, Bethany’s role will continue to expand. She has been a huge part of our success the last few years. We are excited for her new role, to not only work behind the scenes in everyday operations but continue to be one of the faces of our company in reporting like she has the last few years. This was probably something that we really needed to do a while back but now is the perfect timing as growth continues to happen with our company. Bethany has done outstanding work and fits what we do to promote student athletes in the state.” Kuplen said.
Bowman will continue her role as a reporter on the SIK All-Access Show, live events, and other media related things but will take on a much bigger role behind the scenes of Sports in Kansas. As Director of Operations for Sports in Kansas, Bowman will manage day-to-day activities of Sports in Kansas including social media accounts, marketing/promotions, scheduling events, content creation/production, and serve as the liaison of the company.
