Brooks Whaley, Rock Creek Sr. & Spencer Davidson, Minneapolis Sr.

Rock Creek’s Brooks Whaley and Minneapolis’ Spencer Davidson were among the state’s most well-known players entering 2021. Both had delivered big 2019 seasons before COVID shut down last spring. This year, both enjoyed massive seasons for successful teams. Rock Creek captured the Class 3A state title. Whaley finished this season with a .613 average (49 of 80) with nine doubles, four triples, 24 RBI, 46 runs scored, 23 walks and 25 stolen bases.

In ’19, Whaley posted a .419 average with eight doubles, three triples, 26 RBI, 42 runs scored, 12 walks and 15 steals. Overall, Whaley concluded his career with a .503 average (92 of 183), the best mark in school history. Whaley had tied the school record with seven triples and is tied for second with 45 steals.
