Zeke Lyons, senior at Parsons High School, has been named this months Labette Bank Athlete of the Month for his play on the basketball court this past season.
Lyons, who has committed to Kansas City Kansas Community College, averaged 17 points per game this season for the Vikings. Parsons was ranked second the majority of the year and lost in the first round of the 4A state tournament after battling injuries to star all-state guard Dariq Williams. Lyons stepped up big at the state tournament with 20 points in one half against Rose Hill before finishing with 26 points and six rebounds in his last game as a Viking.
Lyons, who scored over 1,000 career points, picked up many accolades this season including All-State 4A First Team from Sports in Kansas and Craw-Kan Southeast Kansas All-Area Team. Teammates Daquan Johnson and Williams also made all-state lists in 2020 while Pierce Thomas earned honorable mention all-state. It's been quite the run for the Parsons High School Basketball Team and head coach Anthony Houk.
