The Rainbow Communications Northeast Kansas Athlete of the Month for August is Gabe Garber of Sabetha High School and the Sabetha Raptors Summer Legion Team.
Garber led all of Kansas legion in batting average this summer with a .571 average. The senior to be at Sabetha High School is also one of the states top multiple sport athletes. He has won back to back state titles in football and baseball. As a sophomore, he was the Sports in Kansas 3A baseball player of the year and earned first team all-state honors this past season. He is also a two-time all-state football player entering his senior year. Garber also shined at the Sports in Kansas Shrine Bowl football combine in June this past summer. There isn't much the Sabetha product cant do.
The Raptors finished 34-3 this summer as a team and took first in the Double A Zone Tourney and took second in the Double A state tourney.
Additionally Garber has been featured by multiple publications statewide heading into the 2019 football season in Kansas as one of the top returning football players in Kansas.
