This months Nex-Tech Wireless Central Kansas Athlete of the Month for their performances over the month of September is Salina Central senior running back Taylon Peters.
Not only has Salina Central, under first year head coach Mark Sandbo, been one of the most improved teams in Kansas going 4-1 after entering the year on an 18-game losing streak that dated back to 10/30/15. Peters has been one of the most impressive backs in Kansas trough five weeks of the 2018 season. He has 981 rushing yards with 13 rushing touchdowns so far for the Mustangs. Peters had 285 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the upset win over Campus on Friday as the Mustangs won 48-17. Central has Newton this week,a team also much improved in 2018.
Peters isn't the first running back with success in his family. His older brother Dalton, once featured on Faces in Kansas back in 2015, was one of the best backs in 5A that season. He went on to wrestle at the University of Nebraska.
Nex-Tech Wireless would like to congratulate Peters and the Mustangs on their 4-1 start in 2018.
