The Craw-Kan "Your Community Technology Partner" Team of the Week from the Southeast Kansas area is the Pittsburg High School girls track and field team with their first place finish at the Jocks Nitch/PSU Gorilla High School Relays in Pittsburg last Friday.

The Dragons finished first out of 29 teams that scored points with 123 total points, which included teams from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska & Oklahoma. The Dragons were led by freshman Faith Turner, one of the top sprinters and jumpers in Kansas, who had three first place finishes (100, 200, LJ). Turner is ranked second in all classes of Kansas in the 100 and ranks in the top 10 in the 200 & Long Jump. Senior Taylor Muff, a four time state champion in the 100/300 hurdles, also picked up two first places (300IH, Discus) and a second (110H). She ranks in the top 10 in all classes of all three of her events in Kansas. Junior Mckenzie Wilks, who won the 5A 800 meter title two years ago, took second in the 800 and won the 1600. Her 1600 time of 5:10 ranks number three in all classes of Kansas this season. Other first place finishers for the Dragons were senior Daeshia Turner in the triple jump, who ranks in the top 10 of Kansas, she also took third in the 100 meters. Turner, along with her younger sister, Faith, who won the 100, also paced the 4x100 relay team to a first place finish. Other 4x100 members were sophomore Vanessa Yaghmour and senior Jayden Hammond. 

Craw-Kan would like to congratulate the Pittsburg girls on an outstanding meet at Pittsburg State last Friday!


Craw-Kan “Your Technology Partner" and Sports in Kansas will once again be in partnership over the 2016-2017 school year to release a "Craw-Kan Team of the Week". 

"I am again excited for this partnership with Craw-Kan and highlighting teams from the SEK area to not only a local platform but also giving them statewide reach on our network," said Sports in Kansas Managing Partner, Chet Kuplen. "Not only does this help athletes and teams to be promoted for their achievements, it also lets the area know what all the new products that Craw-Kan has to offer, including new gigabit fiber now in the the area. Also that Craw-Kan is now in Frontenac and Pittsburg” 

"Craw-Kan offers all your technology needs in the area from internet to web design and cell phones to security systems." said Craw-Kan Marketing Manager, Zach Adams. "We have a lot of new products including the fastest internet in the area in the new gigabit fiber, we are also in Frontenac and Pittsburg with our service. We are very excited with all the new products we have to offer to the area."

Nominations will be accepted from every Friday-Sunday, with the "Craw-Kan Team of the Week" being released every Monday on Sports in Kansas (Kansas-Sports.com). Teams must be nominated via email or twitter. 

Teams must be from the following leagues in the Southeast Kansas area to be eligible: SEK, CNC, TRL

Craw-Kan and Sports in Kansas will also partner in releasing a "All Craw-Kan Team" for the Southeast Kansas area after postseason play has wrapped up.
