The Craw-Kan "Your Community Technology Partner" Team of the Week from the Southeast Kansas area is the Frontenac Raider wrestling team after their performance at the 4A Regionals at home on Friday and Saturday.

The Raiders, led by head coach Keith Akin, are a fairly new program over the last several years and qualified six wrestlers to the KSHSAA State Tournament this coming weekend in Salina. Four FHS wrestlers earned regional championships with RIley McDaniel (120 pounds), Jordan Ishimura (152 pounds), Brandon Mlekus (160 pounds), and Nathan Kaufman (195 pounds). Two other Frontenac wrestlers took regional runner-up in Mason Jameson (132 pounds) and Andrew Mays (170 pounds).

As a team the Raiders took third place with 145 points in the regional out of the 15 competing 4A teams. Prairie View won the regional with 158.5, while Burlington took second with 154. The 4A division in wrestling is not split like it is in football or basketball. Frontenac was the smallest 4A school at the regional tourney with just 268 students and is the third smallest 4A school of the 64 total 4A schools in the state. 4A enrollment ranges all the way to 773 students (Maize South). Craw-Kan wishes the Raiders best of luck at state this week!
