Hutchinson High School senior offensive lineman Josh Rivas has been named the Nex-Tech Wireless Central Kansas Athlete of the Month (AOM) by Sports in Kansas for his accomplishments over the month of November.
Rivas, a 6-foot-6, 335-pound, Kansas State commit, had a huge year in 2016 in leading the Salthawks to a 8-2 record. He helped pave the way for 350 rushing yards per game for Hutch this season. Rivas was named to both of the states major newspapers Top 11 squads (Topeka Capital-Journal, Varsity Kansas), the 6A Player of the Year by Sports in Kansas, as well as to every major publication 6A all-state team in Kansas.
Hutchinson only losses this season both came to Derby, the state champion in 6A.
