The Labette Bank Athlete of the Month from the Southeast Kansas area for their performances over the month of October is Columbus junior, Keenan Stanley.
Stanley, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound, reciever/running back, had a breakout season in 2016 in leading the Titans to a 8-2 record. Stanley had 1,950 all-purpose yards in 2016 that included 1,307 rushing, 307 recieving, and 336 return yards. He tallied 20 touchdowns on the year. In October alone, Stanley totaled 996 total yards over the course of four games, a stretch that Columbus went 3-1, with their one loss that month coming to Frontenac (21-20).
Columbus (8-2) finished their season last Friday November 4th, as they were upset by Girard, 28-24, in the opening round of the 4A-II playoffs.
Labette Bank Athlete of the Month Nomination Criteria
-Athlete (girl or boy) must play in the CNC, Pioneer, SEK, or TRL Leagues in Kansas.
-Selection will be based on the play of that athlete over the period of that month. All stats and info must be provided.
-All nominations are accepted with selection process being handled and finalized only by @sportsinkansas. Coaches are encouraged to nominate their own athletes or athletes from opposing schools.
-Nominations MUST be emailed. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org during the last seven days of the month to nominate your athlete!
