The Nex-Tech Wireless Athlete of the Month (AOM) for Central Kansas for their play over the month of October is Pratt sophomore Travis Theis.
Theis, a running back, is having one of the better seasons in 4A-II this year with 1,442 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in 2016. 542 of those rushing yards and six touchdowns came over the month of October as Pratt defeated Halstead, Hugoton, Holcomb, and Kingman. Holcomb was the number one team in 4A-II as Pratt knocked them off, 35-28, on October 21st. Theis has had at least 150 rushing yards in five games this season. Theis also racked up 31 tackles over the month on defense and has 61 tackles this season. Theis also had an interception in the win over Hugoton.
Pratt, the #2 ranked team in 4A-II, has one loss this season (9-1), back on September 30th to 3A #1 Hoisington. The Greenbacks, led by head coach Jamie Cruce, are one of eight teams left in the 2016 4A-II playoffs.They take on Smoky Valley at home this Friday. Pratt is having a breakout year as they finished 4-5 in 2015.
