The Girard football team, led by head coach Leon Miller, has earned Craw-Kan "Your Community Technology Partner" Team of the Week for their effort in their 42-6 week two victory over Riverton on Friday.
The Trojans rebounded for a great win on the road against the Rams after dropping their home opener 40-12 to Frontenac in week one. The Girard defense stepped up big as they limited Riverton to just 60 yards of offense in the contest. Offensively, senior Quarterback Eric Wilson was the key for the Trojans. He picked up 93 yards rushing with four touchdowns and threw for 163 more yards. Camden McFarland led all rushers in the game with 95 yards on the ground. Senior end Jordan Hopson led the Trojans in recieving yardage with 69 yards on the night.
Girard (1-1, 1-1 CNC) will be back in action this Friday as they host defending CNC League champion Columbus (2-0, 2-0 CNC). Columbus won 53-7 in week two over Southeast-Cherokee.
Craw-Kan “Your Technology Partner" and Sports in Kansas will once again be in partnership over the 2016-2017 school year to release a "Craw-Kan Team of the Week".

Nominations will be accepted from every Friday-Sunday, with the "Craw-Kan Team of the Week" being released every Monday on Sports in Kansas (Kansas-Sports.com). Teams must be nominated via email or twitter.
Teams must be from the following leagues in the Southeast Kansas area to be eligible: SEK, CNC, TRL
Craw-Kan and Sports in Kansas will also partner in releasing a "All Craw-Kan Team" for the Southeast Kansas area after postseason play has wrapped up.
