The Labette County High School Grizzlies football team, led by first year head coach Sean Price, has been named this week's Craw-Kan "Your Community Technology Partner" Team of the Week for their week six win over Riverton, 41-7, on Friday night.
The Grizzly offense racked up 400 yards of total offense, including 286 yards passing and two touchdowns by junior quarterback Logan Dean. Senior Klein Ryan had six catches for 117 yards receiving and a touchdown, while senior Dominic Johnson caught four passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Isaac McPherson also scored two rushing touchdowns.
The Grizzly defense held Riverton to just seven points, which all came in the fourth quarter. Riverton had only nine first downs in the game compared to the Grizzlies 18. Sophomores Tate Phillips and Quiency Jones each had two sacks for LCHS. Johnson also picked off a Riverton pass for an interception.
