The Columbus basketball girls team, led by head coach Marty Atnip, has been named the "Craw-Kan Team of the Week" from the southeast Kansas area for the week of January 19th-25th for winning the 23rd annual Southeast Lancer Classic Tournament in Cherokee this past Saturday.

The Titans, ranked 10th in the latest 4A-II KBCA poll, picked up three wins last week in the tournament. On Tuesday, they coasted past Jayhawk-Linn with a 67-26 victory, led by Olivia Murdock's 16 points. Columbus would beat Baxter Springs on Friday in a 55-27 blow out behind Marissa Thompson's 15 points. The Titans would capture the championship on Saturday as they picked up their most impressive win of the season, defeating 1A-I #4 St. Paul, 47-30. Thompson again led the way on Saturday as she led all scorers with 13 points, while Lauren Anderson had 11. 

Columbus continues play this week on Tuesday against Independence at home.
