Player to Watch: Quarterback Andrew Bruna is a dual threat quarterback who has rushed for 725 yards (24 TD) and passed for 1,668 (33 TD). Evan Zabortzky is his top target with over 900 yards receiving in 2014 (19 TD). Preston Juenaman has rushed for over 900 yards (19 TD) to lead the rushing attack for the Wildcats.

Note of Interest: Hanover played in 8M-II last season losing to eventual state champion B&B in the state semifinals. Their three losses last year were to both 8M-II title representatives: Baileyville B&B (lost twice), Sharon Springs. Hanover has scored 724 points in 2014, state record is 760 by Victoria last season.

Player to Watch: Senior Layne Bieberle of Central Plains is one of the best 8-man receivers of all time. He has a state record 55 touchdowns in his career. He has over 1,000 yards receiving this season with 25 touchdowns, his second straight year over 1,000. Junior Quarterback Braden Crites has passed for 1,846 yards (36 TD) and rushed for another 495 (17 TD) for the Oilers. Junior Cody Price leads the Oiler defense with 122 stops, while Bieberle has picked off seven passes this season.

Note of Interest: The Oilers have six shutouts of the season in 12 games. All starters are juniors and seniors with one sophomore. First state championship appearance as Central Plains since consolidation of Claflin and Bushton-Quivira Heights. Claflin had 11 title appearances with a 5-6 record in title games, three of those titles (97,98,99) came in 11-man. Quivira Heights has four all time title appearances going 1-for-3.
