2019 6A Sports in Kansas Boys Player of the Year


Christian Braun, Blue Valley Northwest, Sr.


The 6-foot-7 Braun, the 6A Player of the Year, SIK All-Classes Player of the Year, and Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year, averaged 29.6 points and 10 rebounds a contest. Blue Valley Northwest went 23-2 and captured its third straight state championship with a 53-41 victory against Washburn Rural. Braun helped BVNW win its first two state games by a combined nine points.


Braun, who has signed with Kansas, cleared 1,000 career points, and is the school record holder for single season points and rebounds. Playing for legendary coach Ed Fritz, Braun averaged 25 points a game at state, including 16 points and 10 rebounds in the final. 

He becomes the second Husky to win the All-Classes POY from Sports in Kansas as Clayton Custer won it back in 2014. 


The Blue Valley Northwest Athletic Department would like to congratulate Christian Braun on the 2019 Sports in Kansas 6A Player of the Year. And also a big congrats to Head Coach Ed Fritz and the 2019 6A State Champions!
