Wrestling season is rapidly approaching and we are pleased to announce the date of the third annual Wrestling Coaches’ Luncheon, presented by Freeman Health. Our luncheon last year was a huge success. As everyone looks forward to rolling out the mats and getting the kids ready to wrestle, we are looking forward to the first opportunity to meet with coaches, both new and long-tenured.
Starting at 10AM, we ask for coaches and staff members to discuss their team with the assembled media and talk with other coaches. Media interviews will follow, with the hope that we will conclude around 12PM followed by lunch. The luncheon will be held on the campus of Pittsburg State University, in the new athletic meeting room inside the Garfield Weede Gymnasium (1701 S. Homer St., Pittsburg) on November 1st. Lunch will be catered for all attending by Pallucca’s, so bring your appetite. Lunch will be served in the foyer between the Weede and the Plaster Center, as with last year. We will eat from 12-12:45PM, followed by the release of preseason coaches’ polls for each league. We will host all leagues at one setting with each coach getting a chance to come to the podium and speak about their team.
Please complete the pre-season poll and questionnaire. We ask that you fill out the poll by placing the teams in the order you expect them to finish the 2018-19 season. At the top of the poll, there is a space to put number of attendees from your school; coaches, athletic directors, and administrators are more than welcome to attend. The questionnaire will give us the opportunity to distribute information about your team to area media, allowing for greater team and league coverage. After you have filled in the form, if you happen to have a picture representing your team or program (e.g. state placers from last season, team photos, etc.), we would be much obliged if you could send that as an email attachment.
