The Nex-Tech Wireless Western Kansas Athlete of the Month for their play over the month of December is Goodland senior Dawson Raymer.
Raymer, a 5-foot-11 senior, led the Cowboys to an undefeated mark before the break and a 6-1 overall mark so far in 2017-2018. He did so by averaging 16.2 points per game, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 2.1 assists per contest. Raymer hit 19 three-pointers before the new year and shot 43% from behind the arc. Raymer also had a breakout year in football as a receiver in which he had over 900 yards receiving with 10 touchdowns in 2017.
The Cowboys, who play in Class 3A, are currently 6-1 on the season with their only loss coming to defending 4A-II champ Holcomb last Friday and will be back in action tonight in an away game at Colby.
Congrats to Dawson and the Goodland boys basketball team on a nice start to 2017-2018 from Nex-Tech Wireless.
